Additionally, a robust trade exists on messaging services, where groups with thousands of members share comparison images, injection guides and assertions of next-day British shipping. Sellers market the drug there before directing customers to WhatsApp for transactions.

Understanding Retatrutide

Retatrutide is an investigational injectable developed by American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly. The treatment affects three gut hormones – glucagon-like peptide-1, GIP and glucagon. Early trials indicate it could assist individuals lose up to a quarter of their body weight. Referred to as the “triple G”, the substance is being promoted online as the successor to Ozempic.

Healthcare Professionals Express Concerns

Nevertheless, doctors and pharmacists have warned that the sale of what remains an unapproved medication in the United Kingdom is a cause for concern and could result in users administering products of unknown origin.

When questioned whether the substance was authentic, one vendor responded: “You can’t be sure.” Another provided a image of a supposed laboratory certificate. Not one inquired about weight, medical conditions or previous experience.

Inside these communities, posts display black plastic parcels with Royal Mail labels, stating to contain new batches. One message read: “It took eight of us to load them this morning.”
