That Gory Animated Movie Ending That Haunts Viewers

Out of all the adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve personally watched, nothing has lingered in my mind quite like the fear-filled conclusion of the viscerally violent and highly provocative film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, this Spain-based filmmaker crafted a grim, melancholy , frequently brutal world with some tiny , forlorn twinges of hope.

While Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from a desire to advance animation even more, the director explained that it was actually an attempt to convey a global, cross-cultural theme regarding “the shared root of each battle.”

That message is conveyed through a squad of vividly colored bears , clearly based on a well-known line of lovable figures.

Growing up in a culture focused on warmongering as well as the war machine, a lot of these creatures are fixated on exterminating the mythical beasts, due to a holy book that tells them they used to be kings of the forest, before the horned beings forced them out.

Some have not completely accepted the indoctrination, , prefer to sample narcotics or mate outdoors.

Unlike their cuddly equivalents, these bright beings show genitals , clear sex drives.

For a particular notably brutal, skeptical animal, Bluey, the conflict with the unicorns transforms into a road to control — and particularly to dominance above his gentler, nicer brother Tubby.

The character behaves aggressively and a seeming psychopath , and while terror takes over his squad and claims his teammates individually, he seizes increasingly control on his own behalf, via progressively bloody, damaging approaches.

Simultaneously, the horned creatures are experiencing their own terror, as a spreading, harmful creature in their woods.

“In the early stages, it appears as a humorous movie,” the director said. “However it evolves into a more serious and sorrowful film. And in the finale, it transforms into a terrifying movie.”

Unicorn Wars begins similar to one of the most quirky films by a legendary filmmaker, that uncover a wicked pleasure in allowing cartoon characters swear, engage in violence, or engage sexually.

Afterward it becomes closer to a bleaker film from that creator, featuring progressively visual gore , a noticeable connection to genuine horror of battle.

In the finale, it is a full-on theatrical horror carnage.

The horror that makes this a perfect Halloween movie kicks in much sooner than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is ideal for the most dedicated fans of gore, for fans of extreme cinema who desire to view a movie they haven’t ever watched previously, and who can handle a story which delivers unflinching brutality.

Watch it in a dark room free from interruptions, and that ending will burrow into your mind and take up residence there.
