Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
