Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
