Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to send a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded following a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The diverse array of musicians appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of producers and composers. The track blends a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the initiative have emphasized that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These donations will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We aim for as much as possible. Of course, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The situation in the region was noted for its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property described as destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
